ASBAA President
Karl Bryan Vince Cruz

The President is a leader to all members of ASBAA and is an advocate and spokesperson for ASBAA to all stakeholders.
Bryan is in his fourth year at the Asper School of Business, majoring in Accounting, and this is his second year on the ASBAA Executive Team. He has experience in bank reconciliation and global tax and is planning to pursue his CPA designation after graduation. Outside of school and work, Bryan enjoys cooking, playing sports, and watching movies/TV shows.
Vice President
Ronaldo Metadio

The Vice President works alongside the President as an advocate for ASBAA for multiple stakeholders, as well as providing oversight for the Executive Team. They are responsible for coordinating Member Meetings and collaborating with ASBAA’s event co-chairs.
Ronaldo is in his final year at the Asper School of Business majoring in accounting. He is planning to pursue his CPA designation upon graduating. Outside of school, he enjoys playing video games, reading, and listening to music during his free time.
Director of Finance
Jan Yvette Madarang

The Director of Finance will be depended on to set and maintain the budget for ASBAA. The role requires taking initiative in monitoring cash inflows and outflows to ensure that ASBAA initiatives for events are viable and ensure financial stability.
Yvette is a passionate accounting student working towards her CPA designation with over two years of experience in accounts payable and budgeting. Outside of school, she enjoys almond croissants, baking for loved ones, and planning her next pilgrimage.
Director of Corporate Relations
Pasha Taremian

The Director of Corporate Relations acts as the key contact for corporate sponsorship information for ASBAA. The role will entail an understanding of the selling points ASBAA events to corporate sponsors and act as the liaison between the ASBAA and the CSA Managers of Corporate Relations (MCR).
Pasha is in his 3rd year at Asper School of Business majoring in Accounting. He is an aspiring CPA who outside of school enjoys cooking food and going camping with his friends.
Director of Marketing
Alvin Cagol Jr

The Director of Marketing develops and maintains a marketing strategy for ASBAA alongside the Social Media Coordinator. This includes coordinating with other ASBAA executives in designing promotional material, creating newsletters, and communicating with the Commerce Students Association to expand ASBAA’s reach.
Alvin is a fourth-year student at the Asper School of Business majoring in Accounting. He plans to pursue his CPA designation after graduation. Outside of academics, Alvin enjoys playing pickleball and exploring thrift shops.
Social Media Coordinator
Kathy Nguyen

The Social Media Coordinator manages all ASBAA social media, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and the ASBAA website. The Social Media Coordinator works alongside the Director of Marketing in promoting events year-round, and takes on the duty of engaging with followers, managing followers on all platforms, and answering queries.
Kathy is a 4th year accounting major. She has previously worked in industry and not-for-profit accounting and is currently working in the public sector. Outside of school and work she is most likely trying out new cafes and trying a new hobby.
Logistics Coordinator
Spencer Smith

The Logistics Coordinator supports both internal operations and member management while providing general assistance as needed. This year-round role is essential in ensuring the executive co-chairs remain organized and well-prepared for their events.
Spencer is beginning his final year at the Asper School of Business, majoring in Accounting and Finance. His previous work experience includes time spent in financial services, sales, and audit. When he’s not working or studying, Spencer enjoys watching hockey and travelling.
Toronto Trip Coordinator
Yeasin Ahmed Sidad

The Toronto Trip Coordinator oversees and organizes the Toronto Trip, will work along the President and VP to coordinate funding and planning fo literary and other accommodation needs. Work to coordinate events with firms and businesses in Toronto to ensure a great experience for attending members.
Yeasin is in his final year at the Asper School of Business, majoring in accounting and this will be his second year being a part of the ASBAA Exec team. You might’ve probably seen him as a grader or tutor for various accounting courses. Outside of academics, Yeasin loves traveling and concerts.
CPA Network Night Co-Chairs
Zaneta Ray-Aigiomawu & Tabish Ghani

The CPA Network Night Coordinators work throughout the summer to organize CPA Network Night, which will take place in September. The role involves logistical planning as well as communication between the Career Development Centre and CPA Manitoba.
Zaneta is in her third year at the Asper School of Business, pursuing a double major in Accounting and Finance. She has experience working in credit and accounts payable, and has plans to pursue her CPA designation upon graduating. Outside of school and work, she enjoys listening to music and reading novels.
Tabish is a 3rd year Asper Student double majoring in Finance and Accounting with a plan to pursue his CPA. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis; plane watching; and doing escape rooms with his friends. He is very/extremely passionate about ethics, financial legislation, and global politics.
IACC Co-Chairs
Asmi Bindra & Sangyun Kim

The Internal Accounting Case Competition (IACC) Coordinators will work with the VP to coordinate the details and process that the case competition will take on including, venue, case, tutorials, and other accommodations as needed. Working with the Director of Finance and Marketing to ensure a smooth and thought out event with appealing to members and students.
Sangyun is a third-year Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) student at the Asper School of Business majoring in Accounting and a CPA co-op student working at Canada Life. He served as a Unit Supply Sergeant in the Republic of Korea Air Force, where he managed logistics for jet fuel operations. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue the CPA designation. Outside of academics and work, Sangyun enjoys photography, fitness, and investing.
Asmi is a fourth year accounting student at the Asper School of Business. This is her second year on ASBAA because she thoroughly enjoyed her experience from the prior year. She is plans on pursing her CPA designation after graduation. Outside of school you can often catch her at the gym, listening to music and hanging out with her friends!
AMCC Co-Chairs and Logistics Coordinator
Pav Dhillon & Rudhtra Prabaharan

The AMCC Co-Chairs and Logistics Coordinator work together on all aspects relating to the inaugural Accounting Matrix Case Competition, including the coordination of judges and event speakers. Working with other external vendors to plan and organize the accommodations and transportation needed, also ensuring a strong memorable event. Marketing towards other members to incentivize attendance.
Rudhtra is a fourth-year Accounting student at the Asper School of Business and is serving her second year as an ASBAA executive. When she’s not busy with school or work, she loves playing Stardew Valley and checking out new cafés in Winnipeg.
Pav is a second year student at the Asper School of Business, majoring in accounting. Outside of school she likes books, anime, and food!
Academics Coordinator
Andrea Montalan

The Academics Coordinator is a brand new executive position for the 2024-2025 year. This executive will lead new initiatives to support the professional development and academic success of Accounting students. They will be responsible for implementing Accounting Study Sessions, as well as other informative seminars and workshops.
Andrea is in her final year at the Asper School of Business majoring in Accounting. She has experience in tutoring and academic support and is passionate about helping students succeed in accounting through study sessions and workshops. After graduation, Andrea plans to pursue her CPA designation.
