The Asper School of Business proudly presents the second annual Accounting Matrix Case Competition. Otherwise known as AMCC, this challenge is an epic two-day event from January 23rd to 24th, 2026, for students from various universities and colleges across Winnipeg. This year, AMCC will be taking place at the Holiday Inn Winnipeg South (1330 Pembina Hwy).
- AMCC consists of two rounds of case competitions, one 40-hour prepared case and one 3-hour traditional case. All 10 teams will be required to compete in both rounds.
- AMCC encompasses networking events with representatives from sponsoring firms at the Matrix Hour and a Gala Dinner. This year, we will be joined by guests from CPA Manitoba, MNP, and Parrish & Heimbecker.
- Cash prizes and achievement trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams.
Who competes?
- Currently enrolled full-time or part-time undergraduate students pursuing a full-time business degree. ASBAA welcomes schools from across Manitoba to compete in AMCC- including, but not limited to; the University of Manitoba, the University of Winnipeg, RRC Polytech and Assiniboine College.
- An accounting major is not a requirement, but an asset.
- No prior case competition experience is required!
- 10 Teams of 4 members (Individual sign-up option is available!)
Prizes
- First Place: $1,000 + Achievement Trophies
- Second Place: $500 + Achievement Trophies
- Third Place: $250 + Achievement Trophies
Registration officially opens on Monday, December 2nd. The registration is a two-step process- firstly, participants must purchase a ticket on Eventbrite. Second, participants must complete the Google Form. Get excited for AMCC!
