You Could Be the Next President or Vice-President of ASBAA!

ASBAA is looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and hard-working individuals to fill the positions of President and Vice-President. These positions will provide you with an excellent opportunity to improve your leadership skills and meet many interesting people.

Candidates would ideally be available for both the Fall 2015 and Winter 2016 semesters and elections will take place during our last council meeting, tentatively set for March 25. Candidates will make a speech to the membership at the meeting, explaining why they are the right person for the job and what they hope to accomplish during their term.

Below are brief overviews of what each position involves:

President:

The President does most of their planning during August and September. The last three months of the Fall semester are slower, only having to plan one member meeting. January is busier in the weeks leading up to the GAAPS Case Competition. The President will also help out with whatever is needed, often at the CPA Wine and Cheese and GAAPS.

ASBAA puts on so many great events, and as President you will have a role in each and every one of them. Once elected, the President and Vice-President will begin to interview and select their own group of awesome individuals to work with over the year.

Vice- President:

The Vice-President of ASBAA works closely with the President throughout the year, but they will be spending most of their time planning the GAAPS Conference. As VP, you will be in charge of the GAAPS team and are responsible for putting on the biggest and best ASBAA event. This past January, GAAPS was a big success because of the hard work the committee put into the weekend. If you’re a team player and are looking to gain experience in event planning, the VP position is for you!

How to Run 

To complete the nomination process, for either position, you will need to send Sarah a short bio, and an explanation as to why you think you would be good for the position.This information needs to be submitted by March 21, 2015 and will be sent out to members ahead of the vote at the final member meeting.
